Western wind when wilt thou blow.

Western wind when wilt thou blow
the small rain down can rain
Christ if my love were in my arms

and I in my bed again

Poems, or lyrics in this case, don’t come much shorter than this, a whole story hinted at in just four brief lines. Sixteenth century, anonymous, and heartrending.
